What Scents Turn Her OFF!

Handsome stylish man

Most men don’t give much thought to how they smell or how their smell affects their relationships.  Let’s face it, when you are out on a date the last thing on your mind is, “I wonder if she likes the way I smell?”  Which begs the question, does she like the way you smell?  Chances are, and after a lot of polling, she doesn’t.  But not to worry, with a few basic rules you can win her favor and her nose.

Why is smell important to women anyway?  Women literally sniff out a mate that has a scent “fingerprint” opposite of their own, hence the expression “opposites attract”.  Our natural odor is part of a gene known as MHC (major histocompatibility complex), and this gene is used to entice a mate through scent to ensure the healthiest offspring upon mating.  Mix your natural scent with a scent she hates, and you are guaranteed to turn her off, and away.

That is why we came up with a quick guide for men looking to make a lasting impression on the opposite sex, not turn her stomach.

Scent “No-No” List for Men:

1.  Drugstore Aftershave – There was a time when drugstore aftershaves were popular.  Unfortunately for you, it was in her dad’s era.  Do you really want to remind her of dad?  If you are a using a high-quality shave soap, then aftershave is unnecessary.

2.  Heavy Cologne – Women are naturally attracted to a man’s natural odor, and 98% of the women we polled said a man’s natural scent mixed with a light hint of musk is sexy.  So, stop hiding that sexiness under layers of heavy cologne.  Let the animal out of the cage.  Choose a natural cologne and lightly spritz your bare chest.  Your body heat will activate the scent, allowing it to lightly linger in the air and entice her senses to want more.

3.  Cherries – Every women we polled said the scent of cherries reminds them of cough syrup and car washes.  Enough said.

4.  Smoke – Even the female smokers we polled said the smell of smoke was a turn off in every situation.  This means on your skin, in your hair, on your breath and in the air.  There is a reason people drink in smoky bars – do you get the picture?

Your scent is a hint of who you are, so be sure it is not sending the wrong message.
